There is just three weeks now until judging for the 35th Official Great Aussie Pie Competition takes place. This is a great time to introduce those lucky enough to be a 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge and tell you a little bit about them.
Shaun Pyne – 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge
Pyney will be joining us as a 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge for the second time over all four days of judging and will be partered with various pro judges to offer his assistance.
Pyney’s mission statement is “I’m just an average bloke on a mission to visit every bakery/cafe in Australia”. He is partnered with Compass Institute Inc. who provides support for intellectual and/or physical disabilities and is ambassador for various baking industry stake holders (Unox, Cybake, MOI International, etc). We’re sure you would have heard of Pyney and maybe even read some of his pie reviews, if not head over to his website and check it out.
Reyan Fernando – 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge
Reyan will be joining us as a 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge for the full day of judging on Tuesday and will be partnered with various pro judges to offer his expertise.
Reyan, known as That Smoke ‘n’ Grill Guy specialises in smoking and grilling chunks of chicken, pork, and beef to produce juicy and succulent dishes that will have you drooling. Reyan, is also an Australian Red Meat Ambassador for MLA and is partnered with mental health charity Without Fear. Anna Polyviou – 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge
Anna will be joining us as a 2024 OGAPC Guest Judge for the full day of judging on Wednesday and will be partnered with various pro judges to offer her expertise.
Anna, is an award winning pastry chef with a quirky urban style and a distinctive pink mohawk. Anna has worked in kitchens around the globe including the Shangri-La Hotel (Sydney), Pierre Herme Patisserie (Paris), Claridge’s Hotel (London), and the Sofitel (Melbourne), no to mention appearing as a guest judge on MasterChef and hosting Family Food Fight. She also has a growing collection of awards including best dessert in the UK, and Australia’s Hotel Chef of the Year, and Pastry Chef of the Year. She even has her own brand of edible cookie dough, check out some of her recipes and content on Facebook, Youtube, and Instagram.
We are excited to have these three awesome individuals join us as Official Great Aussie Pie Competition Guest Judges and look forward to good times and banter. We appreciate the time taken out of their day while joining us and donating their taste buds to our cause. We are positive that all entries will benefit from their vaulable feedback.
